Iranian woman to be blinded in ‘eye-for-an-eye’ retribution punishment
An Iranian woman is to be blinded in one eye as punishment for
an acid attack that left her victim without sight, the country’s Supreme
Court has ruled, local Tasnim agency has reported, as cited by Reuters.
The unidentified convicted woman allegedly threw acid in the face of
her victim, Sima, in the city of Dehdasht two years ago. “The
sentence to blindness in one eye, payment of blood money [compensation],
and seven years [of] imprisonment have been confirmed by the highest
court,”

Attacker at Paris’ Louvre cried out ‘Allahu Akbar,’ one man wounded
A French soldier on Friday shot and wounded a man armed with a knife
after he tried to enter the Louvre museum in central Paris carrying a
suitcase, police sources said. The individual cried out “Allahu Akbar”
and police believe he wanted to carry out a terrorist attack, Michel
Cadot, the head of the French capital’s police force, said on Friday.

announcements that are “unilateral” and “undermining” of President
Donald Trump’s effort to forge Middle East peace, a senior

Iran mocks Trump in response to White House threat

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that “nothing is off the table”

he would consider military options to respond to Tehran, a day after

Ceasefire violations in Ukraine still too high despite lull in fighting: Germany
The German Foreign Ministry said on Friday that there had been a lull in
fighting in eastern Ukraine in recent “hours” but ceasefire breaches
