2 strong aftershocks hit western Greek island of Lefkada
Two strong aftershocks have rocked the western Greek island of Lefkada, where a 6.1-magnitude quake killed two people this week and caused extensive damage. The Athens Geodynamic Institute said Friday's aftershocks were of magnitude 4.8 and 4.6 and struck under the sea off Greece's western mainland, 300 kilometers (186 miles) west of Athens.

Pollard released from US prison after thirty years behind bars
Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard was released from prison on Friday after 30 years behind bars. He was released from the federal prison in Butner, North Carolina, after serving a life sentence for passing classified information to an ally. Greeted by his wife Ester, the couple were en route to Manhattan to enjoy their first Shabbat dinner together outside of a government facility, according to Pollard's lawyer.

Members of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group have released another 37 Assyrian Christians who had been kidnapped nine months ago. Those freed on November 7th—including men and women in their 60s and 70s—were among the 253 Christians snatched during ISIS attacks on Assyrian villages in Syria’s northeastern Hasaka province. Thankfully, the newly released hostages arrived safely at the local town of Tel Tamar.

China has almost tripled its number of supercomputers, according to a reputable list of the world's most powerful machines. The country has 109 high-performance computing systems on the biannual Top500 list of supercomputers, up 196% from 37 just six months ago. The most powerful supercomputer, China's Tianhe-2, also retained the top spot for the sixth consecutive time.  

India's Chennai hit by rain and deadly flooding
More than 70 people have been killed as incessant rains continue to batter the southern Indian city of Chennai, media reports say. Most of the main streets are waterlogged, bringing the city to a standstill. Many offices, schools and colleges have been shut due to rains in the past week.

More than half of the Palestinians support a third intifada against Israel, according to a public opinion poll published on Monday. The poll, conducted between November 12 and 18, covered some 1,000 Palestinians.

About 6,500 Jews have made aliya from France so far this year. According to projections, some 8,000 Jews will have immigrated to Israel from France by the end of 2015... “We have noted a steady increase of about 10 percent this year compared to 2014, when 7,200 French Jews arrived. This increase continues the trend of recent years, so we don’t see a specific peak in the number of French immigrants,” he added.

North Korea has declared a no-sail zone off its east coast in a sign it could be preparing a missile launch, Yonhap news agency reported on Sunday. Earlier, the first of the seven dead attackers was named as Ismail Mostefai. Six people close to him are in custody.
