Turkey issues new threats to Kurdish forces in Syria
Turkey has promised the "harshest reaction" if Kurdish forces try to take the key town of Azaz in northern Syria. Over the weekend Turkey shelled the Kurdish YPG militia as it made advances in the area. Syria said the Turkish shelling was a violation of its sovereignty and called on the UN to act.

Russia-Ukraine road blockades hit trade
Hundreds of goods lorries are stuck on roads in Russia and Ukraine because of tit-for-tat economic blockades. On Monday the Ukrainian government said Russian lorries would no longer be allowed to transit through Ukraine. The move came after Russia said it had stopped 152 Ukrainian lorries en route to Kazakhstan. Russia accused Ukrainian nationalists of preventing Russian lorries reaching Belarus.

New Libya cabinet proposed to replace dual governments
Libya's internationally-backed presidency council has proposed a new cabinet for the country which has had two competing governments since 2014. The proposed council will be put to a vote in parliament this week. The BBC's Rana Jawad says Western powers hope that this will be Libya's future unity government.

AMMAN- At least 14 civilians were killed when missiles hit a children's hospital, a school and other locations in the rebel-held Syrian town of Azaz near the Turkish border on Monday, a medic and two residents said. They said at least five missiles hit the hospital in the town center and a nearby school, where refugees fleeing a major Syrian army offensive were sheltering.

China's exports fell 11.2 percent on-year in January, while imports declined 18.8 percent, clocking far bigger slides than expected by analysts. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a 1.9 percent drop in January exports, and a 0.8 percent drop in imports.
